I have just gone to log into my Sky emails and saw this. I only logged on as I got a 48 hour account closure message and wondered how genuine this is given the notice

The notice email I got was

Dear Valued Client

This is to notify you for the final time that we will stop processing incoming emails on your account and email deactivation will take place anytime from now to give room for our new updated version.

Take a minute to update your email account by clicking the button below.

[link removed]

This link is active for 48hrs and is only valid once

Thanks for your cooperation

and then when logging in on line I got this

We've found an old inactive account linked to your Sky iD. You need to unlink it to enjoy all of your Sky services on your new account.

This is a scam email and isn't from Sky.

Emails from Sky will address you by your first name and as these scammers don't know it which is why they have said "Dear Valued Client" a phrase that Sky would never use.

Mark these emails as spam.

Did you login via the link in that email because if you did then I would change your password as soon as you can:

Do you still use Sky TV?

I haven't used Sky TV on my account for at least 12 years, and I get the same message. As it is refering to the Sky services that I don't use, I just ignore it.

I don't know what effect unlinking will have, but as I only use the email, I don't really care.

No sky TV like you just email
