Sky.com email address being phased out?

I've just had a conversation with a Sky rep regarding an issue with my account. During that conversation he told me, more than once, that Sky are phasing out all sky.com email addresses.

Note: this was not an incoming scam phone call or email. I called Sky using the valid number on Sky's website and which I'd used before.

Has anyone got any information about this supposed phasing out? It's the first I've heard of it and I can't see anything online in relation to it. If it is true, I'll be very unhappy (and so will a lot of people I suspect).

I tend not to believe things like this that Sky are telling people as more often that not they turn out to be incorrect. While you can never say never there has been nothing from Sky that anything like this is going to happen.

@Anonymous Sky stopped providing new Sky Yahoo email addresses some years ago. I suspect that's what the adviser was referring to.

I've not heard that they're planning to ditch Sky Yahoo Mail for existing email accountholders (though I'm sure they'd like to!).

The adviser did definitely say Sky would be phasing out current sky.com addresses in the near future. However, as you say, it's often worth taking whatever's said by them in general with a pinch of salt !

I'll leave the thread active for a day or so, in case anyone out there has any other info or opinion on this.
