I received an email saying my sky email password was expiring the day before, i take it its a scam

I got an email today the 7th supposedly from sky saying my sky email password was about to expire 6th, would this be a scam?

Yes it is a scam email as your password is not expiring. It looks like these scams emails are doing the rounds as you are the second person today to get this same one as you can see here:

Don't click on the link and mark the email as spam and do the same should you be sent anymore.

Ive just recived an email asking me to valadate my email message reads:

It appears from our data that you haven't validated and updated your mailbox.
On August 27th, 2024, all emails, files, and contacts stored in your account will be automatically erased if they are not validated. In order to keep using our services, users will need to validate their email.

that date is today, I haven't recived anything before this and I use my email everyday. Is this a scam please.

Undoubtedly, yes. Just mark it as spam. The link will take you to a fake login site, designed to capture your userid and password,.
