Since having full fibre installed everything has been ok, but I have noticed lately that when we are on one of two landlines in the house it will suddenly go off. I have then got to redial the person I was talking to. I can speak for quite a while but then sometimes it will go off. I originally thought it was just the one phone and that there was something wrong with it, but it is happening on the other one as well. Surely they both can't be on the blink ? lol.

Hi,

One of them is plugged into the router. The other one which is in a different room is just plugged into a socket on the wall. ( not sure what type of socket ) Thankyou for replying.

@susancarole123 your telephone service is provided via the telephone socket on the rear panel of your broaband Hub, so unless you've done something creative with the wiring(!) only that phone should be working.

If the other phone is also currently working I suspect it will stop sooner or later. I do wonder if the problem you're having is because you have a phone plugged into the old phone socket.

As @Mark39 indicates, that's not a typical configuration and cannot be expected to function reliably (or long term)

Once voice service is arriving over broadband to a router, any internal extensions will usually cease to function.
