With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll likely be a scam call.

Possible scam?

I received a call from [number removed] this morning.

I had been expecting a call from Sky regarding a particular issue. However, the caller started to go on about discounts.

I terminated the call before giving any personal details, becoming suspicious when he appeared not to know my name or email address.

Just want to confirm this isn't a Sky number.

Thanks

Moderator note: number removed
