SMS text messages to landline not being relayed by BT SMS service (Sky Talk)

A few months ago I could receive SMS messages sent to my landline. The BT SMS Text service would phone the landline and offer a voicemail-style menu for reading out or storing/deleting received SMS test messages. This is no longer working and I am unable to send SMS messages to my landline number from anywhere. They refuse to send which makes me wonder if something on Sky's end is blocking them.

This is an issue as I have services using the landline for for 2FA.

Does anyone know how to enable/manage this service? There is nothing mentioned in the Sky Talk documentation that I can find and it is impossible to get through the automated support service.

@SunnyAcre I'm assuming this is a problem with receiving SMS ,messages via your Sky landline. As you rightly say, it's not a service which Sky advertise, nor is it included in any of their policy or instruction guides.

I suspect while it may work by default, it's not a service which Sky actively support. There have been a few posts here in the past about problems with the service, which have not, to my knowledge been resolved.

All you can do is speak to Sky, but I'm not confident that you'll encounter an adviser with the knowledge to be able to help.

Many thanks for your reply. Yes, I think I'll need to try and contact Sky and see if anyone can assist but a more likely scenario is I'll need to change the SMS number on my services' 2FA. Thanks

@SunnyAcre to be honest, I think the latter is likely to be er.....less painful....
