      <title>What phone for VOIP new Sky fibre install</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Can anyone please offer some advice.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We are currently on Sky copper (fibre to cabinet) for both broadband and 24/7 telephone (sky talk anytime extra?).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We are having a new install of Sky full fibre this week.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am confused as to what phones work with the new system? I thought it was VOIP and we would need to buy a VOIP phone . But a search online suggested I may be wrong - I don't fully understand it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Can anyone please give a technical answer as to what phones work.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In particular we currently have a BT2200 phone. Will that work?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Final question. We asked to keep our current number. Do I need to make sure the engineer does that or will it be automatic?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks for any help&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;All you can do is tell Sky that you want to retain the number.&amp;nbsp; I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. It would be most welcome if you have a moment after the event to tell us whether or not you were successful.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;By the way, it's not uncommon for activation of the phone service to take a couple of days to complete, so it may not work initially.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
