I have been with sky for 16yrs , and sadly I had to move my landline and broadband to BT I have had my landline number for 47yrs and I only found out when a heakth professional tried calling my landline. I called BT and they have raised a portal to try and retrieve my original number. I wasn't made aware from sky that I couldn't keep my number. I have tried several times to call but keep getting a robot or an automated answer of which it asked if I wanted to reyromy landline number I had to go into my MySky account and raise it there but I couldn't see a topic for retrieving numbers. Can anyone please help me in anyway abd if anyone has been successful in retrieving their numbers.

I have moved your post to the Sky Talk board as it's nothing to do with Sky Q. Your other two posts on incorrect boards have been removed.

As you've reported this to BT have you chased them up to see how their efforts are progressing? As you've now left Sky I fear there's nothing much Sky can do to retrieve it.

@Crystal_ it's the acquiring provider (BT) who is responsible for obtaining your phone number from Sky, providing you asked to keep it. As you've already contacted BT about it, there's no need to follow it up with Sky.

That information should come from the 'gaining' ISP rather than the one being exited: they are supposed to inform new customers that while number portability is usually possible it's not completely guaranteed.

The ISP being left could potentially face Ofcom sanctions if they conveyed such a message as it might be seen as intentionally discouraging.
