topic “Line cord error” in Talk

My stepdad had a stroke in November so has not been at his home since then, having been in a neurological rehab. He is due to come home on Monday after months of intensive physiotherapy, and I'm trying to get his house ready for him.
His landline is not working. Phones show "Line cord error".
Broadband is working, but the "voice" LED is not lit. "Power" "Internet" "WiFi" are all lit however.

I have phoned Sky and they unfortunately refused to help because I am not the account holder, and as he is still currently in hospital, he is not here with me, so would not help me.

He is not very technically minded! So he doesn't have a smart phone, and we really need to ensure his landline is working prior to him being discharged. I don't think he would even be able to make the call himself when he's home as his speech has been affected by the stroke.

I have unplugged and reset everything to no avail.

I would be hugely grateful if anyone may be able to suggest anything that might help me get it working for him.

Many thanks

Is he able to tell you the telephone password he may have set up with Sky?

Otherwise it may be worth registering him with the Sky Accessibility Team who may be able to help now or in the future. Once registered there are also different methods of communication with this team other than phoning so have a look here… ~

https://www.skyaccessibility.sky/

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/accessibility-information-sky-mobile-broadband-and-talk-customers

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/third-party-assistance

That's really helpful to know, thank you! Will have to call again once he is home.

Just very frustrating that it won't be working when he gets home.

Will definitely look into the accessibility options as well.
Thank you!
