I believe Gigaset has models where the base station does not have its own handset.

You'd need their analogue hardware though, not VoIP.

I have recently had the Sky full fibre upgrade, which has cut off the analogy "BT" (Openreach) phone cable extension that used to run from the Sky hub to another room where the landline telephone sits. I don't want the telephone in the same room as the hub (no space/ run out of power sockets/want it kept in a locked room). -Can I somehow re-use the extension cabling (I'm not an engineer) or does anyone make a phone and charger that can be remote from the hub (maybe with some sort of sender unit)? Or can I get the landline number on to our iPhones as it is VoiP?

The simplest solution would be a standard DECT cordless phone, comprising a base unit which plugs into your broadband Hub and a cordless handset which you can place where you wish. The handset connects wirelssly to the base station.

Thanks, albeit doesn't address the "i want.. the telephone to be [away from the hub] in a locked room" issue. Maybe I just remove the cordless handset from the base unit connected to the hub.....

Yes, that's how it's designed to work. My cordless handset only sits on the base station overnight to charge.

Best option is to look at Dect phones as advised in other replies.
