Moving Incoming Cable

Hello - I am in the process of getting new windows and the surveyor picked up that the incoming cable is within the old wooden frame and has said we have to have it removed.

Does anyone know how to go about this as needs to be done quite urgently?

Presuming Sky are your provider give them a call when the lines open and they'll pass it on to Openreach but I can't help but wonder why the cable was placed through a window frame in the first place. Hopefully there's an alternative.

@Daniel0210 I dare say back in the Goole ole days of British Telecom or the GPO they would have done this as the easiest route in.

Many older properties with wooded window frames had the telephone cables routed this way rather than drill through walls.

Commonly through a front door frame for the 'phone in the hall', before such things needed power sockets ; )

Thanks all, correct, in through the wooden frame as wood have been the easiest option for them.

Have managed to book in master socket relocation but have had to pay £65 for the privilege.
