      <description>&lt;P&gt;Your BT landline will become a Sky landline. Normally, but not always, you can keep your phone number. Nothing physically will happen to the copper telephone cable.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you switch, you'll have Internet calls, so your phone will need to be plugged into your broadband Hub, not the wall socket.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Slight amendment to what &lt;a href="https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/4639"&gt;@Mark39&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;posted: if your address is within reach of the national optical network then Sky Broadband will be provisioned over a new FTTP circuit, and the copper line becomes obsolete.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.&lt;/P&gt;
