Is Wifi calling free without Talk package ?

Hi,

I am currently paying for Sky Boradband Ultrafast, and Sky Talk Anytime (my mobile subscription is through another provider).

I've decided I no longer need my landline, so thinking of dropping Sky Talk Anytime.

I think I understand the difference between using a landline phone handset for a VoiP call, and using my mobile "wifi calling" to make a mobile call using the broadband through my internet connection.

As my mobile signal is not great at home, I want to make sure that I can still use "wifi calling" on my mobile using the Sky Broadband Ultrafast if I cancel the Sky Talk Anytime package ?

I'm thinking that when using wifi calling, it doesnt make any difference to the sky broadband service - it's just providing data the same as any other request, but would be great if someone could confirm one way or the other.

Also.....does anyone know if I cancel the Sky Talk Anytime subscription, does the home number stay in service, e.g. people can still phone it, and I can still use it on a pay per use method, or would cancelling it be like having the line disconnected ?

As I understand it, wifi calling makes use of your Sky broadband service, not your landline service, so cancelling Sky Talk Anytime won't make any difference. You'll still be charged for the call, as normal, by your mobile provider.

If you cancel Sky Talk Anytime, you'll still have a landline service, (you'll be switched to the Pay as you Talk package) but all calls will be chargeable. There are no inclusive calls with Pay as you Talk.
