BT are digitising our landlines which means in the event of a power cut you cannot use the phone. For those like me who don't use a mobile, they provide a battery back up. I asked for one but they said, as I am with sky, I need to ask them.

This is what I am doing.

It would be Openreach and BT Wholesale carrying out any such infrastructure changes: 'BT' in this context is an ISP competing with Sky.

Under Ofcom guidelines, Sky should be in touch to identify potential vulnerability before they transition a voice service to digital. It's not possible to request this hardware through a forum post.

Best to give them a call to explain your circumstances and to see if they can help.

If you identify yourself as having particular additional needs through the Sky Accessibility Service (if relevant) then that helps with such things.
