Sky internet land line

Am present with Talk Talk and before long the land line will be removed from our area.

Had no word from Talk Talk regarding the changes.

We have a BT team starting to visiting our area next month so might get to one of their talks.

If I went with Sky does it involve a engineer visit for the internet phone system or is it just a case of a new router and does it depend on which broadband package you go with if you go straight on to the internet phone as well as broadband?

Normally no engineer visit is required, unless a new telephone line or fibre optic cable is being installed.

For internet calls, all you need is a Sky Broadband Hub, which has a phone socket incorporated into the rear panel. Any standard phone should work with Sky internet calls. All telephone (Talk) packages include internet calls. You simply have to decide which call package you want.

Customers switching to Sky have for many months (more than a year) been switched to internet calls by default.

'land lines' are not being removed. PSTN service is due to end by December next year, but that's not the same thing.

IP voice service over copper, optical or some other data medium replaces PSTN for 'phone' calling.
