Line Cord error

I keep receiving the message 'line cord error'. I have tested the phone and line and still receive the error. How can I check to see if there is a fault on the line?

There's a fire at the exchange, mines the same, nd that's what sky told me when I called them, could take. Few days to repair hopefully quicker

Maybe.... Gazza should phone them them using a non sky mobile to find out

maybe a coincidence that a few people have the same problem at the same time is why I answered his question ... maybe I shouldn't of tried helping in the 1st place as your the 2nd person that's questioned what I've put.

The post from @Marion6 was referring to a fire at an exchange in Derbyshire iirc. Unless you live in the area of that exchange that fire won't be affecting your line.

Thanks everybody for help and responses. After doing another test it appears their is a problem externally and an engineer is coming to fix the problem. Many thanks for everybodies help and support
