They can check the line and if necessary pass any fault to Openreach for investigation.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Look out for a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have&lt;STRONG&gt; 48 hours &lt;/STRONG&gt;to click on it and join the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within &lt;STRONG&gt;48 hours &lt;/STRONG&gt;the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved.       <title>excessive crackling on landline</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;been having ongoing problems with crackling on the Skytalk landline, for a month or so now.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;swapped over cables and bought a new phone as the previous phone was pretty old so thought maybe that was the problem. nope, crackling still there.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;can make and receive calls and broadband has been tested and is working fine ...its just this damned very loud crackling all the time.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;sorry but i failed to follow up on Sky's response to this problem.
