I understand that BT are moving everyone over to Internet Calls, but when I test my phone by connecting directly to the Sky Router nothing! Do Sky need to activate this service?

Openreach (not BT) plan to switch off the old analogue phone network by the end of 2025. I'm not aware that Sky has yet started to migrate existing customers to internet calls - they're currently doing so for customers new to Sky, and those upgrading their broadband service. When the time comes they'll no doubt let customers know - it may involve replacing your router, if you don't currently have the upright Sky Broadband Hub.
