Retaining a landline number

It is a condition of our tenancy agreement that we must retain our landlord's phone number once the tenancy starts.

Is this possible and if so how do we contact Sky to request this?

Be aware that Sky cannot guarantee it. This is taken from their website help page on moving to Sky Talk.

Your phone number

Most of the time you can keep your existing number when moving to Sky Talk. Just let us know your existing number and your phone provider when placing your order.

Good to know: Order Sky Talk before cancelling with your current provider – we won’t be able to transfer your number if you cancel with them first.

If we can’t transfer your number or you want a new one, you’ll get an email or letter with your new number.

Interesting, so if the above was followed. What would stop someone getting the same number.

If I've read this correctly, you're moving into a property which already has a phone line and number, rather than transferring an existing phone service to your new address. Does your landlord expect you to,sign up to a phone service in your own name? If so, I'm guessing that if you sign up with Sky (or any other provider) you just take ownership of the line and number already assigned to that address and it doesn't involve any number porting. but I'm not absolutely certain. I'd suggest giving Sky a call to check.
