Scratchy landline

When it rains our landline is so noisy its unusable

I assume there is a hole in the cable and I can't speak to a real person. I want bt to do some checks and replace the cable I guess

Done all of that in the past. Its due a crap aluminium cable from the house to the junction box at the end the garden probably. It only happens when the ground is damp. Cable needs replacement but getting an engineer is virtually impossible
