@jerrydp27 Can you dial 17070 on your landline and tell us the greeting that you get. If it says welcome to Sky then you should be able to get talk shield.

I dialed 17070 from landline phone and there was no connection to anything - no dial tone, no continuous tone nothing. Didn't connect to anything.

We are on full fibre FFTP with sky broadband and sky talk

The phone is a BT one with their call guardian software but don't seem to able to enable that as I think it only works on a 'normal' copper BT line. I thought openreach covered everything everywhere (to borrow a phrase from EE)

@jerrydp27 Are you able to try another phone? Also do you have 4 lights on your router?

I tried another bog-standard handset and plugged into the phone socket on the router and got the same result - no tone or connection to anything.

Yes all 4 router lights are always on.

Phone works perfectly Normally other than being able to use either the built in call guardian on my BT handsets or of course signing up to sky shield

@jerrydp27If none of your phones work are you able to report this to Sky in another way? If not this can be escalated to Sky for you.

Well, the phones work to the extent that normal outgoing and incoming calls work. However nothing happens when I dial 01707. If that is what you mean, then yes I would like it escalated to sky - how is that done?

@jerrydp27 Can you make normal calls through the phone if it is plugged into the back of the router in the normal phone port for your country.

I am in UK.

As I have FFTP, we can only use phone via the Internet cable and therefore only via plugging the phone into the 'phone' port on the router.

The original sockets into the house from openreach copper cable is no longer in use since we upgraded to full fibre 2 years ago.

@jerrydp27Sounds like the phone is working as normal then. As you said this is a problem with talk shield not allowing you to login. You will have to ask Sky what the issue is and if it is avaiable to you. Sometimes if you are not on their network it shows the same faults as seen with yourself.

Just dial 150 on your landline, when asked the nature of the call say " Technical " , you may be asked for a mobile number give this, but DO NOT hang up and it should drop you into the queue to speak to an advisor.

@jerrydp27Sorry to say they are the ones to see if there is a fault on their side or if you have not tried other browsers to see if you can get into that way to activate it.
