I've just activated voice on the fathers router and now need to work out how to connect an emergency call button that he can wear. Does anyone have advice on what would work with this set up?

As a first step, try connecting it in the same way as you would for a standard phone service. Most devices work OK with Sky VOIP.

The 'phone' socket on the Hub is supposed to emulate PSTN, including the supply of power to a connected device and the ability to 'split' the connection using a standard BT socket doubler or trippler

Be aware though:

Internal phone extension sockets no longer work.

If broadband fails, there will be no 'phone' connection and the call button will not work.

In the event of a powercut there's no longer power being supplied from the local telephone exchange and the call button will not work.
