Hello,

My contract is Sky Broadband Superfats and I have internet calls (VOIP) for free.

If I am using VOIP why do I have to pay for Sky talk Anytime extra?

Calls via Sky VOIP aren't free, I'm afraid. They're charged in exactly the same way as non-VOIP calls.

Typically telcos are very reluctant to give up the call billing which has served them very well for 150 years, and to be fair, unless the call is VOIP from end to end there's still a cost to them at the point it breaks out onto the recipients PSTN service or cellular infrastructure.

No, unfortunately that's an anomaly in the way Sky choose to display their billing: provision of the service is 'free' but using it has a cost, either as a pence per minute charge or by debiting an allowance. Personally I think this is somewhere between potentially misleading and downright dishonest, but they don't appear to agree.
