Hello,

I need help to connect my sky talk voip to an ATA.

I cannot connect my phone to my current fibre router for several reasons; first we didn't have much choice in placement and it is in my daughter's bedroom so i will not plug a phone there, nor drill ridiculous cables all over. Secondly, we would rather use our old analog phone (pulse) and both these issues can be solved by using an ATA. We already have one lined up and i know the simplest solution would be getting a SIP, but i would rather if possible as i am a sky talk customer, be able to use my sky phone number and line.

Is there any way to configure this on my ATA, has anyone done this, can Sky help me directly configure it?

On a side note, it would be helpful if sky added an extra phone plug on the TV terminal which would solve this issue for many of us with no line placement choice.

Thank you.

@grounkrow wrote:

Is there any way to configure this on my ATA, has anyone done this, can Sky help me directly configure it?

As @Mark39 indicates, Sky just don't provide the configuration details required to do so: these are (presumably) baked into the ATA inside the Sky Broadband Hub.

On a side note, it would be helpful if sky added an extra phone plug on the TV terminal which would solve this issue for many of us with no line placement choice.

I'd suggest that's incredibly unlikely. The simplest answer to the limitations of VOIP from an ISP router is to plug a DECT basestation into its 'phone' port and distribute client handsets around the property.
