If you ask to port your number, they're required to do so unless there are specific technical issues preventing them from doing do.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If they're at fault for not requesting your number to be ported, then they can usually put it right for you, if you wish. Or you can take advantage of your cooling off period to cancel without penalty.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;There's no right to compensation under these circumstances.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Joined this sky last week no phone number gave me completly new number when I had explicitly stipulated that I wanted to retain the phone number we had used for 40 years. Phoned to complain no incoming calls and then they&amp;nbsp; informed of change . Asked to be put through to cancellations was advised by the helpline person"Chandan" that he would put me through. Was on line for several minutes then cut off. Will be cancelling this tomorrow. If no compensation offer from Sky will be going to ombudsman. They can deal with it better than I.&amp;nbsp; Also they charge companies like Sky&amp;nbsp; £455 for every complaint they investigate.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
