Land line can make calls but cannot receive calls.

My land line can make calls but does not receive calls. Callers get told they have called an incorrect number. Sky can offer no solution and simply say the problem is in my home. Can anyone offer advice please?

@Jim491 are you new to Sky landline and broadband? If you dial 17070 the recorded message will tell you what number has been assigned to your line. Check that it's what you're expecting.

I've checked the number and it is what I expected it to be. Do you have any other suggestions ?

@Jim491 assuming you switched from another provider, when did the switch complete?

I changed over at the end of June and have been trying since then to get Sky to fix the problem.

@Jim491 from previous posts it seems that very occasionally it takes longer than usual for Openreach/Sky to complete the activation work - so the service may work for outgoing calls, but not incoming or vice versa.

I doubt very much it's anything to do with a problem within your home (sounds more like the adviser didn't know how to help).

Most likely it's already being monitored by the right back office team. I'd suggest reporting,it again, raising a complaint if necessary. We can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here so that you can do that via a private online chat, if you wish.
