Was this a scam phone call

Called today out of the blue. Number came up as sky. He knew I had sky Q. Was asked for my address and postcode.

The caller went through "extra items" in my sky package, none of which were new. Then wanted me to take sky protect insurance which I declined and told him I did not need it and he said he would record this. Just wondering if this was a scam as I've never been called from sky before. Also want reassurance that if it isn't a scam that I will not be charged for the insurance.

Sky Protect is operated by Domestic and General Insurance and have an annoying habit of saying they are 'Sky'.
