Can the chine be relocated

Hi, does anyone e know if the chime can be relocated to another room once synced or does it have to stay connected to the router? If so can an additional chime be purchased as its basically useless if it has to be in the same room as the router

@Rowen1 it needs to be connected to the router at present i don't think you can obtain a second chime as the chimes need to be connected to the router

The chime connects to the router by ethernet cable, so that cable can be much longer or (possibly) the connection made over Powerline networks adapters: someone needs to try this to find out.

I've managed to relocate the door chime using a WiFi extender that also has a LAN port. The thing to remember is that the Video Doorbell isn't WiFi - it's Bluetooth, as far as I can tell. That's why it has to be within 8M of the chime. I found this out when the signal got worse as I went away from the router when the chime was still plugged into it - even as I was walking toward the WiFi extender with the video doorbell, the signal degraded because I was heading away from the chime and Bluetooth couldn't cope.

might be wrong but that's my conclusion!
