    <description>&lt;P&gt;No, Sky are not paying me in any way.&amp;nbsp; I am not connected with them at all.&amp;nbsp; I'm just another customer who suffered the same problem as you.&amp;nbsp; However, I prefer to find a way around it while I look to see if Sky care about correcting my situation.&amp;nbsp; My experience has been that they are doing everything they can to correct the situation in the bigger picture, i.e. for all of us.&amp;nbsp; In a world where everyone simply looks at things from the perspective of how it harms or benefits themselves, I prefer to see things differently.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm quick to criticise when there is a genuine cause to complain and, believe me, I can take things to extremes once I dig my heels in.&amp;nbsp; Unlike most, I also take the time to applaud good service even in the light of problems for myself.&amp;nbsp; This is one of those cases.&amp;nbsp; I'm an ex electronics design engineer so the technical side of this problem was of interest to me and I understand much of Sky's position.&amp;nbsp; Like one or two others here I looked into it, it is in essence a simple issue, and found a solution of my own which stood alongside other simple solutions that other members had posted.&amp;nbsp; The answers are out there if you bother to look.&amp;nbsp; When I approached Sky and complained to them about my own remote having a problem I found they were completely open about the cause of it, the breadth of the issue and what they were doing about it.&amp;nbsp; I found that refreshing.&amp;nbsp; We discussed the potential temporary solutions of which they were aware.&amp;nbsp; We spoke on very friendly terms from both sides.&amp;nbsp; My remote arrived three days later!&amp;nbsp; As I keep on saying, honey not vinegar.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have simply tried to support people and to lead them to a properly analysed resolution to their problem, described in a clear and unambiguous way.&amp;nbsp; You don't often find that aspect on the internet.&amp;nbsp; Should I simply rant and rave alongside them with no advice on how to get round this issue?&amp;nbsp; I have no other motive than to reduce peoples' blood pressure and take a little more strife and conflict out of the world.&amp;nbsp; I thought it would only be necessary to post all of the info once if I made it easy to find during a site search.&amp;nbsp; That was a stupid thought given the attitude of so many of today's internet users!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have become heartily sick of people coming across this thread and simply bleating that they also have this problem and how appalling Sky are to have allowed it.&amp;nbsp; Remember, I have worked my whole life in designing, developing and releasing electronics gear.&amp;nbsp; I understand the pressures that companies are under and the ease with which issues like this can occur.&amp;nbsp; It happens more often than you think and most companies simply pretend it is not an issue until they can find a way to sweep it under the carpet with the least cost to them.&amp;nbsp; Sky have not done that in this case.&amp;nbsp; I genuinely don't like the company, along with the other mega corporations in today's world, but they have acted well in this case.&amp;nbsp; They should be given credit for that and shown some patience as they try to fix it for everyone.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;That fix will require everyone eventually having their remote replaced and the fairest and most practical way of achieving that will not meet everyones' "Me First" attitude.&amp;nbsp; Firstly, there will be many many more people who do not experience this issue out of the box than who do.&amp;nbsp; They are the current silent majority who likely have nothing but good to say about their new Sky product.&amp;nbsp; This issue will very likely occur for them but at a later date.&amp;nbsp; By that time Sky will have given themselves the chance to catch up with the replacements for people who do have the problem immediately.&amp;nbsp; It is a question of prioritising the replacement process so the least people are inconvenienced at any one time.&amp;nbsp; If we are one of those who will be inconvenienced then that is simply bad luck.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What is the alternative?&amp;nbsp; Because a few will have this issue at outset they stop selling all new systems with their existing stock of remotes.&amp;nbsp; No money comes in to fund their business.&amp;nbsp; Your, my, our service will definitely suffer because of that.&amp;nbsp; Is that the best resolution that you can come up with?&amp;nbsp; Or perhaps all new remotes, as they arrive, should be prioritised to new customers.&amp;nbsp; That way the existing customers will defiinitely have to wait for long periods before they become available to send out as replacements.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Of course if you feel there is only you to consider then good luck to you.&amp;nbsp; But then, why should people like me advise you on how to get yourself out of the mire while you wait for your new remote to arrive?&amp;nbsp; I've become sick of trying to help people who are simply too damned lazy to do the legwork to look for a solution themselves and who prefer to simply bang their gums together slating a company who has made an honest mistake, owned up to it, and is trying its best to correct it with the least inconvenience to the fewest people.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Stream remote completely unresponsive</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Just received our Stream, plugged it in, fully removed the paper from the remote. Shone a torch in to see if there's any bits remaining and can't see anything. Totally unresponsive.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Replaced batteries. Still a useless brick.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Tried the holding 7&amp;amp;9 4&amp;amp;6 1&amp;amp;3 tip. Nothing.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Seems we've got a defective remote and there's no one available from technical support.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So disappointed &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":face_with_rolling_eyes:"&gt;🙄&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Anyone had this issue or is it just gonna be a case of getting them to send us a new one?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;first night with sky stream and we're largely happy, we did notice the remote became unresponsive at times and then would randomly start working.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;when unresponsive &amp;nbsp;and pressing buttons the remote does light up but nothing happens on the UI&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Has anyone else experienced this?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Can to use it today and the remote is showing no lights or is not responsive with the TV. Batteries have been changed as well.       <description>&lt;P&gt;I had the same problem but, after numerous tries, got mine to come back to life. I pressed keys 4 &amp;amp; 9 for 4 seconds followed by keys 1 &amp;amp; 3 for 4 or more seconds. Eventually an image appeared on screen saying the remote was pairing. Took several attempts but finally got it working again.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;....to anyone having a similar&amp;nbsp;issue, including the control not turning off my&amp;nbsp;TV connected to the stream puck, fully resetting and reconnecting fixed both for me.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;my control no longer becomes unresponsive&amp;nbsp;or sluggish, and it now controls the TV fully, ie turns it off with a long press.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;...which leaves me with sky stream fully working with no issues..very happy!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;On the subject of remotes, the batteries that came supplied quickly ran out. I replaced them last Friday and yesterday I had to replace them again. I use Duracell batteries that usually last a good while.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Anyone else have this problem?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

What a steaming pile.&amp;nbsp;It's absolutely not worth more than the £20 I paid for it. I've had better dodgy unbranded Android streaming boxes from China.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've just done the re-pairing thing so let's see how long that lasts.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;hi &lt;a href="https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/140699"&gt;@Floydianslip&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp; i seem to remember a few people posting that they were smashing through batteries on the glass TV remote ( i am presuming&amp;nbsp;its exactly&amp;nbsp;the same control ) , maybe a reset / reconnect would help that as well? when i had glass i never had any issues with the control burning through&amp;nbsp;batteries, so maybe a "not properly" bound remote is constantly&amp;nbsp;doing something that the others aren't??&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;worth trying......&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes - found the remote was fine by using it on my glass - the puck was the issue&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;had a screen when I first turned it on asking to pair the remote and couldn't get any further - remote should already be paired&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;My puck remote does this regularly. Usually after pressing the power button to bring the box out of standby. It'll act dead for about 20-30 seconds then suddenly decide to start working.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;I've done a full reset and re-paired it a couple of times but the problem returns.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;It happens with other family members - they've given up on Stream too.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;Waste of time.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
