Hi all,

I received my box a few hours ago and while I am watching the Forest - Villa game in Main Event UHD periodically the picture breaks up and shows

Hi @Scoprio4

How is your Glass device connected to the internet and what's your connection speed?

Glass required 25Mbps for UHD. The devices seem to be quite sensitive to Wi-Fi disturbance and many people have a far superior experience using Ethernet / power line adapters.

Hi @mikealanr - I am using an ethernet cable and the speed is ~100mbps.

I also have an nvidia shield and apple tv and never had any issues with my broadband speed for 4k channels. Which makes me think that the sky puck could be the cause of the issue.

@Scoprio4 sounds like you should be ok does the picture always break up or has it been working previously?

I've been able to watch this evening without any issue so don't think there was a problem with the feed etc.

The only other thing to suggest is make sure that Wi-Fi is disabled on the settings menu on your Glass device to fully ensure routing via the Ethernet.

If not it will be one to take up with Sky support I'm afraid.

@mikealanr Just received the box, so I need to check it further (e.g. if it happens with hd channels too).

I will check the wifi of my tv too (not glass device), but if it keeps happening I will contact sky (unless there are any more ideas to fix it 😇).

On the pucks I found that whenever they were showing a graphics shot on the UHD channel, there was extreme pixelation. Switching to the HD channel and there wasn't any.

When the game was on, I could watch on UHD without any pixelation. It only happens when they bring up an on-screen graphic to discuss something. I noticed it last Monday night too.

I have had my puck on sky stream less than a week and I'm getting the exact same issue on sky sports UHD, everything else is perfect so far and it's a shame because sports UHD is all about the picture quality. I agree it happens the pixelation across the screen when they switch to stats on screen graphics like team formations pre match for example and also on still images between the ad breaks. At a guess I think this is something to do with the HDR element of the picture and the use of HLG HDR for example the ad breaks are obviously not filmed in HDR it's upscaled and converted so I think the pixelation happens between the switch, hope it gets fixed.

It sounds like a wider issue, rather than a box specific. Any idea what is the best way to report it to sky?

I'm afraid I don't know how to reports the sports UHD problem I was hoping somebody from sky might read this thread as it's the official forum but I'm not sure if they do or not.

I know you was not asking me specifically but I also seen it on the Villa Nottingham Forrest match I have for a test watched a few others events and matches and it does the same thing there as well.

It only happens on UHD/HDR football, all other sports channels in HD are fine.

Our sky glass has had problems from the start and have spoken to several sky reps. who mostly agree that there are still technical issues which need sorting and are being worked on now! I was advised to remove wifi from settings and it seemed better for a while but is now getting worse again. We lost Emmerdale on ITV last night completely as it kept stopping, starting and repeating itself! It still freezes at times on any channel but most problems seem to be on ITV. Am complaining again and considering going to Watchdog as Sky are still advertising a product which they know is faulty.

@Floydianslip That's terrible! Do you get the option to view it in SDR? And if so is the picture OK?
