Roaming charges after 3rd may

sky are introducing a £2 for 24 hrs does that mean if I turn data roaming on and use it for 12hrs then turn it off and do not turn it on again for another 2 days and then use another 12hrs before turning data off again will I only be charged for one 24 hr period.

When you use mobile data you are charged the £2 after 3rd May for 24 hours of use from the point you used it. So in your example it doesn't work like that as you would be charged £2 for the first time you use it and then another £2 if you use it again 2 days later.

Hi @colin123456789 because that's how mobile companies have decided that's how they want to charge it. It's not just sky, in your scenario people could use 5 minutes then stop and so on and then would only be charged the one £2 charge. That's not what companies want so have decided no matter how little or how much you use it's for a 24 hour period from first use.

Yes they just want your money but strange that they piggybank off 02 who are not charging for roaming. So many are looking elsewhere and its no wonder why.

It's standard practice to pick the best supplier / price for your requirements. If you have a significant roaming requirement then perhaps you should consider options.

Be careful to note the conditions of roaming with others providers - I posted above about the limit O2 has for roaming and the charges for exceeding that...
