I’d like to know why my Sky charges went from £19 to £35 per month?

Virtually doubling my Sky charges as I only have broadband. I don't have a Sky box so I don't have any channels, so why are broadband charges so high?

Happily go back to BT as I'm being ripped off.

It sounds like the minimum term on your package has come to and end so the discount you had has now finished. When you took this out you would have been told how long it was going to last for so now is the time to call Sky to see if they will offer you a further discount for the next 12/18 months if you agree to a new contract.

If you have a Sky Mobile or Sky Talk landline phone then you can call Sky for free via the 150 number. Or under "Need more help ?" at the bottom this page is the number to call:

Just ignore the messages at the start of the call and remain on the line for as long as you can and don't hang up when asked to do so.

Mine has done the same. Only my second month being with them. 1st bill was £21. Now being charged £39.50???

Your first couple of Sky bills are normally higher than you expected due to the date period they cover, so in effect you’ll be charged from the date you started your subscription up to the end of that billed month, and for the next month in advance as all Sky billing is for a month in advance. A bill could also include admin charges as new or newly renewed deals usually include a £10 admin fee (per discount) which will also increase your payment. Check your future bills to see if they match up to the amount you are expecting. This link will help explain

Welcome to the forum @Sleightcottage . You've probably gathered that we're customers here.

The first couple of bills are likely to be higher than the normal amount - see the section headed 'your first bills' here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/understanding-my-bills-bwm-t1

If your future bills are for the amount you're expecting, it's likely that all is as it should be.

Perhaps worth noting that £19pcm (around 60p a day) is not really a price that any ISP can offer without losing money: you're unlikely to see pricing like that now except for ADSL or as a 'social tariff' FTTC offering.
