Sky Go won't open on Amazon Fire 7 tablet

When I try to open the app, it gets as far as the blue screen with the logo and then it closes itself. It was working normally until a few days ago. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it made no difference.

I am also getting this issue on my Amazon Fire 7 tablet and I have also uninstalled and installed again - still not working @Lisa-P1987

Have the same problem on Amazon fire 8 tablet. Since the sky go update on the 15/12/21 Sky go has not worked. is there any way of rolling it back to previous version.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've tried the normal things and nothing seems to be working. My husband is also having the same on his fire.

Has anyone resolved this?

@Lisa-P1987 whats the solution please? We are due to fly to our honeymoon tomorrow on a 12 hour flight. I had so much j wanted to download and watch 😩😭

After speaking to the customer we have gathered some information and raised this off to our Apps team who have provided an update to us today. They have stated that a wider issue effecting Amazon Fire tablets has been identified and have passed the case on to the relevant teams for this to be resolved. They have informed us a fix will be implemented via as app software update however they were not able to provide us with a timescale.

I have a fire 10 and it also stopped working , I uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect.

Now I find I have to wait for a fix ,what a fix !

Same problem for me.

App worked fine a week ago. Tonight, blue screen followed by homepage.

Uninstalled and reinstalled.

Seems like the app problem is spreading.

Grateful for a solution

This is the reply I got from sky:

"We do try and keep up with all the latest threads on community when we have spare time in-between chats but unfortunately lately due to volumes we have been prioritising escalated posts and have had no time to browse the community posts, if you'd be kind enough to provide us with a link to a related thread we will be more than happy to send invites to private chat to users with the same issue, If we initiate a chat with the customers and and the customer responds, then we find its the exact same issue as you, getting more examples would certainly help us resolve this quicker. 👍"

This is a message for Sky:

It has been a few weeks now since I went through a long drawn out chat over days/weeks and the problem still continues with more and more people submitting messages that they are experiencing this problem as well.

In the last chat, I was advised that it has gone to the technical folk who will investigate and send out an update via the Appsstore and for me to look out for it. This hasn't happened, can this please be esculated now .

As soon as I launch Sky Go, it loads to blue screen and logo then closes straight away. Have uninstalled and reinstalled but no different

I have been trying for some time to access my Sky go app on my kindle fire. I see it is not just me now so if you could fix this problem, I would really appreciate it. It is not the same trying to watch on my phonr
