iPlayer UHD?

I notice that the iPlayer App on Sky Q lists UHD programs e.g. Peaky Blinders but get a black screen with sound while trying to play a UHD stream.

No issue here.

Tried it through Amp as well as couldn't check that they were in UHD otherwise.

Mmmm Amp doesn't prove that it's UHD as Q box is set to 2160p 10 bit anyway.

How do you know in iPlayer that they are UHD?

Strange, all non UHD stuff plays OK but any UHD content gives me a black screen but with sound only. Which Q box do you have, I have a V3. All other content in UHD from other apps plays OK.

Does Sky Q support iPlayer UHD? I tried and didn't work, and its not listed here:

Unless its a beta version?

iPlayer UHD works on the native LG (webOS) app, so no big deal for me its not on SkyQ box.

I have V2 box.

How do you know whether or not it's in UHD.?

UHD search brings it up but there is nowhere in the content that specifies it's UHD

@C+r+a+i+g is correct and checking on the TV App the content is all flagged as UHD.

The Sky content is not.

Programs are tagged UHD in the Sky Q app and play as a black screen for me.

I've found the UHD on iPlayer on SkyQ is hit and miss. Currently I have the new version of the app dated today and UHD has vanished again. Yet all other devices are flagging UHD content still.

v3 box here and I have the same problem. Set to 2160p 10-bit and iPlayer shows a black screen playing UHD video. The sound is OK.

Yep, sound & black screen, and the black screen is not UHD.

I noticed the native LG WebOS iPlayer version is also updated today, same version as SkyQ 25.17.5.0, and that still plays UHD just fine. I know its UHD, as the white is whiter, and the HDR logo pops up top right.

On the SkyQ sound, black screen and no HDR logo.

Seems someone may have pushed the 'launch' button a little early for the SkyQ iPlayer update?

Also, apart from device on the iPlayer System Info, ther is one other suttle difference between LG WebOS and SkyQ iPlayers:

LG WebOS: Colour Depth 24bits

SkyQ: Colour Depth 32bits

My Q iPlayer App is showing Version 25.17.5.0. (Yours is 25.17.4.0)

Dont know if that is significant?

Different Device as well obviously as mine is a different box.

Still no UHD labels anywhere

The black screen is a feature to fix any UHD lip sync issues according to relase notes. 😀

Just checked on my V2 - same as you @oldfella

(BTW tried both non beta & beta modes)

I only use iPlayer on SKy Q to check anyway as my TV already has UHD version working (as does my Firestick 4K Max should I care to use that)
