Switch my sky hub to wifi 6 router

Hi I have had sky 500 for couple of months but it has been unreliable so I have decided to change the router I bought a tp link ax50 but after setting it up and go through couple of forums I have found out it doesn't work for sky

Can anyone recommend a wifi 6 router that can be straigh swap I have fttp think it openreach ont box

straight swap out of the sky hub for me using an asus ZenWifi XT8. Had to revert to an older firmware version for stability about 6 months ago and not bothered with trying the latest firmware as mine is working spot on

@Karrrrrrrl the following asus wifi 6 routers are compatible with sky

Asus rt ax56u

Asus rt ax58u

Asus rt ax68u

Asus rt ax86u

The above are dual band where the wifi 5 ac run alongside the wifi 6 ax and the channel needs to be the same if running wifi 5 and wifi 6 devices together. So a bit of tinkering to find which ac channels can be used with ax channels to co exist

The asus zenwifi xt8 is a tri band router/mesh with seperate wifi 5 ac and wifi 6 ax bands with seperate ssids

Ah brilliant so will they just replace my sky router at moment and just plug the new one into the ope reach box on the wall

I have decided to go with ax56u so will return the ax50

Just got the route today and went ahead and set it up it won't let me take out the sky box is there setting I have to change on the new router ??

Make sure its on the latest firmware and then in the WAN setup in the DHCP Option 61 box you need to put the following: abc123@skydsl|abc12345

Interested in this. What are the maximum speeds possible on those devices. And if I DO have SKY VOIP, this is not an option for me, is it? Many thanks.

Sky Talk using VOIP only functions from the socket on the back of a Sky Broadband Hub (actually an ATA). Even if another router has such technology built-in, the appropriate configuration for it is unpublished.
