Connect Sky Q and Mini via ethernet using a BT router

I have a BT Home Hub 5 router. I've also got a mini box connected via ethernet directly into the back of the main box (have to do this as it's 20m from the house). I'd also like to use ethernet to wire in the main Sky Q box to the router as the wifi keeps dropping out. Given there's only one ethernet port on the back of the main Sky Q box and the mini has to use that as I'm on BT. Is it still possible to wire in the main box to the router as well somehow? If so, how?

Hi @Chipie999 Search Amazon for a Unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet Switch. I have three of these between my Sky Q Main box, BT Smart Hub 2 and two Mini boxes.

Hi @Chipie999

All Q boxes need to connect to the router for full Ethernet connection. This can be done directly of via a simple unmanaged Ethernet switch as suggested by @MightyQuinn

When all boxes are connected by Ethernet you can then switch off all Q box WiFi.

Start with main Q box and first carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.

Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router. Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.

As soon as it connects go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off WiFi.

Repeat the network reset on the mini in the Mini Home menu with the Ethernet connected. Again do not do any WPS and just wait for it to connect.

Once it is connected go into the mini hidden menu (same procedure as above) and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.
