lg oled tv with sky devialet sound box.

lg tv linked with sky q and devialet sound box. Have always switched off tv via lg remote, but noticed yesterday that sound continues via devialet sound box? suspect grandson has been at the devialet remote, but not sure.

Have to now use the two remotes when switching . Not a big deal really, just wondering what's adrift

I take it the audio you hear is the audio from the Sky Q box via HDMI in to the soundbox ?

So are you saying that you are used to turning off the Sky box via the LG remote ? and that the two remotes you use are TV and Sky Q ?

Or have I misunderstood your question

No, never switch off sky box or sound box. Just use lg remote to switch off tv. Audio I'm hearing is definitely from the sky/devialet sound box

OK -so I assume you have things cabled in the traditional way

So you have an HDMI out of your Sky Q box and in to your Soundbox

Then an HDMI out of your Soundbox and in to your TV

So on that basis - if you only turn off your TV then the audio you're hearing is the audio coming out of the Sky Q box which is still delivering Sound and Vision to your Soundbox

So you leave your Sky Q box always switched on ? Even when your TV is off ? Unusual

So if you turn off either your Sky Q box or your Soundbox then of course the Audio will stop

Previously - for there to have been no audio (with only the TV off and the other 2 on) - that seems impossible unless your Soundbox volume was down to zero

You're probably aware that some boxes can turn off other boxes automatically through HDMI control.

If this was happening for you then I wonder if HDMI control has become turned off

So on your Sky Q - check - Settings / setup/ audio visual / HDMI Ccontrol

On your LG - check Settings / connection/ device connection / simplink -CEC

See if putting those 2 on allows one box to turn the other off (although I think it's more likely to work with only your Sky Q remote)

but try - HDMI control / Simplink can be temperamental.

hope that gives you a few things to look at

Sorted, thanks for the assistance. Needed to reset the sky devialet settings, amended them until I got a result
