Sky Q remote wont work, red light wont turn off either.

So this morning my Sky Q box had a red light and wouldn't turn on, I left it for a while and it finally returned to normal.

But my sky Q remote has also stopped working.

No light until I switched the batteries around then it had a continuous red light that wont quit.

I've tried 7-9

1-3

Changing batteries

Turning off the sky box from the plug and leaving it off 30 secs

I followed the sky help trouble shooting page.

I've no clue what to do, can anyone help me please? Do I need to order a new remote?

Exactly what happens when you press 7 & 9 together on the remote. Does the led flash?

Nope absolutely nothing happens, I've tried it several times.

Just a solid red light, the remoter won't control the TV or sky Q box, the box works just fine, nothing wrong with it.

The only thing the remote is doing is keeping a solid red light, no change

Hi @Vicky+J01

Are you sure that the batteries are the correct way round?

Have you checked to make that no buttons are stuck in ? Also check the Sky logo button.

The batteries are fine as as online trouble le shooting suggests I did indeed check every button.

I've clicked the logo a dozen times

? Button to, the remote won't work

Is it a blue tooth remote or Infrared?
If it's Infrared then is something blocking the line of sight to the receiver on the box?

I think it's Bluetooth, there's nothing between the remote and box

So can you see the receiver led on the Q box flashing as it receives the signal?

Nope, remote is fixed red with no control of TV or sky Q

The box doesn't seem to react to anything keeping it's standard colour, I can turn it off and on via the box buttons

You could try removing the batteries so that the light goes out then refit them.
Does the light come on as soon as the batteries are in or when you press the first button?
Once you’ve replaced the batteries, press ? on your remote. Does the LED light flash?
Do you have another remote for a mini?

Done

The light comes on with power

Tried ? After but it did nothing

And sadly I do not have another remote

Not sure now other than buy one locally for a quick result or contact Sky for a replacement?

It does sound like your remote is faulty.
Go through the Sky Help web page in the linke below and after clicking next on the four screens, click on 'Yes I still need'.
It will provide a click box to sign in with your sky id and presents a form to request a new remote to be sent to you.
