How do I transfer programme from main box to watch on mini box

I want to watch something on my mini box ( BT football ) that can only be accessed from the main box at present. Was shown by engineer who installed how to transfer but have forgotten how.

Hi @moorway , If I remember correctly you will need a second subscription to watch BT Sport on both your main box and your mini box.

Hi @moorway You don't transfer anything! Everything available on the Main box (apart from UHD content) is automatically available on the Mini boxes with the correct subscription. BT Sport only available on your Main box suggests that you pay BT for BT Sport on Sky. If this is the case then you need a second box subscription with BT to view on Mini boxes.

Hi @moorway

If you subscribe to BTSport though BT then you have have to pay BT's monthly second box charge. One monthly charge covers all minis. There is also a BT monthly charge for BT Sports HD

If you subscribe to BTSports through Sky then it is automatically available on minis and all in HD

I am aware of Bt's requirements but a Sky engineer showed me how to transfer a BT programme ( in my case it will be for football/rugby only ) from my main box that has BT to the Mini box without the need for a second licence. I think the first step was to press hold button on the BT channel programme but have forgotten the next step. This is what i want to know.

@moorway I'm not sure what they showed but as already advised you cannot watch BT Sport on your mini as you only have a single sub with them. There is nothing to "transfer".

Everything else sits in the recorded section accessible by both main & mini (except BT content).

The only way you would get BT sport on 2 the mini is to pay for a 2nd box sub, or get BT sport direct with Sky.

@moorway That's a very bold statement to make!, you asked for advice and have been given the answer, the only way to do as you want is take your BT subscription through Sky, sorry if you don't want to take advice.

@moorway From the Sky website BT Sport and BT Sport Box Office help | Sky Help | Sky.com

If you pay for BT Sport from BT you might not be able to watch BT Sport on a Sky Q Mini, additional Sky box, Sky Stream puck or additional Sky Glass TV without upgrading your subscription.

You can take BT Sport through Sky to be able to watch across your Sky equipment.

@moorway I suggest you cancel your BT Sports subscription and subscribe again through Sky. It's a better value and you get more features like being able ot watch on both your main and mini boxes.

Hi @Laing1 , When I called on behalf of my parents (who have BT Broadband) the offer included HD but not to view on a second box, but as I mentioned I would prefer that option and save £50 a year.

@kop32 sounds a good deal I wasn't sure if you were aware of what was included in the Sky offer. Which on the face of it does seem competitive with BT although the major drawback getting BT through Sky is you don't get access to the BT app

I have BT sport through Sky and really don't miss the BT App (I suppose as I only watch on my main telly)

I'm guessing the engineer suggested recording the programme, then watching that recording on a mini?
