The download speed on the Q bos is useless. My amazon fire on the same router and broadband is great. What is wrong with your service?

Such problems are almost always at the box itself (otherwise there would be millions of people complaining). Where is your Q box in relation to the router, how is it connecting and who is the ISP?

The router is a TP-Link AC2800 the ISP is Inspire, based on BT circuitry. As stated the rest of household equipment such as the Amazon fire which is basically next to the Sky Q box plus other TVs streaming and computers are delivering it it only the Sky Q box - plus minis - that exhibit slow downloads. Resetting, powering off/on etc. does not change the basic issue. The wifi is standard, the broadband is standard the issue has to reside with the interface twix the SKy Q box and the downloading system. The service is at fault.

The problem with blaming 'the service' is that it tends to blind the user to the likelihood of a local issue: as I indicated above, with over six million Q households any systemic issue with slow downloads would cause this forum to explode.

Q Mini boxes don't 'download' anything directly: their data link is via the main Q box so if that's struggling then they will too.

The forum did sort of explode. But since Sky changed whatever was wrong, it's been a lot less explosive.
