I must warn you that trying to compare SKY Q back to SKY HD is likely to let you down. & possibly feel frustrated

SKY Q has many benefits but some features / shortcuts just aren't implemented or done differently on Q

Mini TV guide whilst watching a recording?

I recently moved from SkyHD to SkyQ, a feature I used frequently on SkyHD was the browse the evening's TV guide for my favourite channels using the 'Now and Next' banner, whilst watching a recording full screen.

SkyQ has a similar feature, but it is only supported while watching a live channel, not a recording. Only the information for the current programme on the last channel watched can be called up.

Am I missing something, or is this a limitation? It seems a backward step to have to go to the full screen TV Guide and the action from my recording be difficult to see in the miniature screen.

hi @Alan+Jenney

I'll be honest & don't know the reasons but some thoughts

There may be a technical reason but one difference between watching a live channel & a recording is that you can always stop & resume a recording to explore the TV guide etc

The ability to see a live preview of the last channel watched during a recording is, however, very useful & I use it a lot (for example I often catch up on recordings during advert breaks when watching live and use the mini screen to monitor when to return to live TV)

Yes, the live-picture-in-playback-picture is a neat feature. I just thought I might be missing a trick to get the mini guide up, I had looked through the help. Oh well, these things happen with a tech refresh.
