Hi There - the last two times I have negotiated a new contract with Sky (hence why this is billing related), I have immediately noticed a spike in Nuisance calls to my landline and mobile phone. I go from having maybe 1 every 6 months to over 3 in a matter of days following calling Sky. I suspect some call handlers are passing on data to scammers, as this is something that only happens after I call Sky. Has anyone else noticed this trend?

Unless you can back that up with some evidence you may need to remind yourself of the second community rule

Cheers and thank you both. No porkies here, merely something I have noticed and I have a suspicion. I wanted to understand if this is something others experience. I had a call about 15 minutes ago from 'Openreach' saying I reported a problem and they said I was with Sky. So I was just looking to reach out to the community to see if my experience is unique (ergo nothing wrong) or if it is something that should be looked at by Sky (which is simple, they would just need to look at the last few calls I had and investigate if need be).

@MikeLondonUser almost certainly coincidence. In my experience when you start getting nuisance calls, they come in multiples rather than the odd one.

Like you, I used to get the occasional call every 6 months or so, then a spate of calls daily. And I hadn't renegotiated my Sky package anywhere near that time. A scammer will guess the provider you're with to make it more credible. Fact is, with Sky being one of largest ISPs they stand a good chance of getting it right a lot of the time.

If you have a Sky landline, turn on the call screening feature of the Sky Talk Shield, and it will prevent you being bothered,by them.
