Pause Services During Move - Unknown Restart Date

Hi Everyone,

Due to our landlord selling the property we're renting, we are having to move back with the in laws for at least a month. When I used to be with Virgin they were able to pause my services, can Sky offer the same?

We don't know how long we will be there officially yet as we're trying to buy a house first, also what if the house (most likely a new build) does not have access to Sky networks?

@Teekay28 Sky won't allow you to pause account

You will need to either keep paying or cancel completely provided your not in contract

alternatively reduce your package to the bare minimum again providing your not in contact for the services you cancel

@Teekay28 As far as the forum is aware Sky don't pause your service, you would have to cancel completely then sign back up at your new address.

Sky don't allow pauses in subscriptions. You would have to cancel (if not in a minimum term) and return your equipment. Again, if any new premises is not conducive to Sky you would have to find an alternative provider.

Thanks guys, doesn't sound very consumer friendly but I'm sure I'll find some way of sorting it 🙂

Virgin own their own distribution network: Sky, like most other ISPs, rent broadband connectivity from Openreach or BT Wholesale, and that rental would continue during a subscriber 'pause' which would turn the account into making a loss.
