Suspicious text messages

I have tried emailing Sky direct but they insist I fight through their website rather than talk directly. They use the term 'Improvements' !!

I have received and reported a number of suspicious text messages with links to other internet addresses. Sky SCAM TEXT address asked me in each case to let you know the number calling me. In each case I did, and Sky acknowledged it, but they have never contacted me again to say if any of the messages were dangerous or safe. How can I find out if Sky are passing me dangerous links? How can I ever know which messages are trustworthy and which are dangerous?

@simpealan Sky won't be sending you "dangerous links", they never send texts with links in them. Any texts with links will no doubt be different to the sky.com website, if so they are scam texts sent from numbers looking like they are from Sky but tend to be spoofed numbers. This being the case Sky cannot stop these.

Just delete them and any more should you receive as there are many of these doing the rounds, I received one myself this morning so I deleted it and then forgot about it and moved on. Anyone with a mobile will receive this I'm afraid as there is no way from stopping the scammers from sending them.

Messages are allegedly from HMRC, NHS, etc and in each case Sky have said they will be 'investigated' but they never get back to me.

How can I contact Sky directly to find out what is going on?

@simpealan They may investigate them, but they can't stop them as already advise. They simply have no control over who is sending them.

You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.

If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
(UK) https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number
(ROI) on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Apparently the quieter times to ring are just after 7am or about 9pm.

Do they have a working email address or not?

Hi @simpealan as advised you would need to phone them, they don't have customer facing emails that can be used.

I'm sorry to hear you are being sent scam texts, I can assure you these are not sent from Sky. These texts are an attempt to gain your personal details. As much as Sky can flag your texts to the appropriate authorities we don't manage your case to the end to then provide a resolution.

my reply was intended to be:

I understand, and was not intending to suggest, that those texts originated from Sky, but they were actually delivered via the Sky mobile telephone network. I reported them to 7726 and Sky replied saying they would be investigated. What is the result of those investigations?

Many of the texts may well be genuine - how can I tell? They contain links for surveys and replies etc. that look as if they are relevant.

Will Sky at least tell me if the source of the texts is a genuine organisation or a private number?

Sorry, the first couple of lines do not quite make sense - I understand the texts do not originate from Sky, and I was not trying to suggest that they did
