How can I get Netflix on Sky?

Am a complete twit when it comes to these things - but am trying to work out how to get Netflix on my old Sky box. I don't want to get a new Sky Q box - as it will cost more - so is there any other way I could get it, please? Any advice or suggestions much appreciated.

Hi @davidjaustin You cannot use Apps on the old SKY+ boxes.

If you have a smart TV you can use the Netflix app on that.

Thanks so much for your speedy reply. That settles it: I shall have to get a new TV or a new Sky Q box.. Have been a Sky customer for 13 years so suggested they give me a new box - but they said no! Anyway, thanks again for your advice.

Just get an Amazon Fire TV stick or something. Much cheaper.

If your current television has HDMI ports, a basic £30 Roku stick should work.

I don't see why having the bill go directly to netflix is an issue or is paying via sky cheaper?

You will need a Sky Q box to have Netflix on your Sky account so as you have posted this in an old thread in the Sky+ forum I presume you haven't got one ?

no i haven't got sky Q cos my son wants to keep all his chelsea stuff on (football) but ive got a smart tv with netflix on can't they connect it that way

They could, but they don't offer it.

Presumably Sky see their link with Netflix as a way of encouraging Sky+ users to move to Sky Q: they really don't want to support both systems forever. There's no great advantage to them in just collecting a very small slice of a (reduced) Netflix subscription fee.
