It is one of the odd occasions when it is sky sports priemier league and not simulcast on sky sports main event

I think the Saudi Arabian grand prix is why it is why it is not on Sky Sports main event

The strange thing is there was no 2pm game broadcast on any channel even though there were 3 live games. Not seen that before.

Because PL matches are the commercial output of Football Association Premier League Ltd and ultimately they get to decide how and where their incredibly lucrative product is distributed?

Not to be pedantic but that's not how it goes.

The broadcasters are the ones to choose how and where matches are played. The Premier League simply sell match packages and the broadcasters then pick and choose as they please. Beyond the structured packages, including maximum and minimum team quotas, the broadcasters dictate how things go.

For the avoidance of doubt, any of the 2pm matches could have been shown live on Sky Sports on Sunday but Sky chose not to use one of the match picks for reasons only they are aware.

By not selecting a match in the early slot on Sunday, they now have an additional pick to use before the end of the season.
