Black Friday marketing - what??

Just got a mailshot from Sky for a 'BlackFriday' offer...

Don't UK retailers realise that this is a specific American holiday to kick start the Christmas retail gorge the day following Thanksgiving (always the 4th Thursday in November)! We do NOT celebrate Thanksgiving here so the whole event for us is a nonsense... Is it compulsory for us to import every bit of cr*p American culture??

You're talking to fellow customrs here, not Sky, if you have a look all retailers are doing this, not just Sky so not sure why you feel the need to vent at them

You can of course choose to ingnore all marketing in regards to this. It's is unlikely to stop any time in the future so I'm afraid we are where we are.
