Problem with subtitles on Sky Q 2TB box using the remote

I recently started with a Sky Q 2TB box; I previously had Sky +.

If I want subtitles, I press "?" on the remote.

I press the right arrow to move to Subtitles (rather than Audio description).

Under Subtitles it shows "Off" and, below that, "Select to change subtitles." (To the right of that is the Help section).

I press Select, and what happens is that "Off" remains under "Subtitles", but, to the right (where the Help section was), "Off" appears with a tick and with "English" underneath. But there are no subtitles.

An alternative is to use the recording button and say "Turn on subtitles". That does work, though possibly with a delay. If i then move to using the "?" button, then "English", without a tick, appears "Subtitles." If I press Select, which should turn subtitles off, then "English" wiht a tick, appeas on the right. And the subtitles remain on.

The subtitles can be removed by using the microphone button and saying "Turn off subtitles".

But something looks to be wrong?

there was a change to the way subtitles work on SKY Q - the main setting is elsewhere

Hi @Cobster365 If you are asking how do I turn Subtitles on and off using the remote then.

To change the Subtitles temporary from the Default you have set by using Voice Command or Menus.

Note press the buttons on the remote in this sequence:

Turn On: "?" -> DirectionRight -> Select -> DirectionDown -> Select -> Dismiss

Turn Off: "?" -> DirectionRight -> Select -> DirectionUp -> Select -> Dismiss.

The Subtitles change to Default if you dismiss a recording or change channel.
