SKy Q picture turns off on tv then on again a few seconds

Hi so I've had a problem for ages my LG TV is connected to my Sky Q box, the picture intermittently goes blank for afew seconds then comes back on, I have changed HDMI cables using the latest cable, reset the box, etc etc pulled cable out and put back again it works fine for.a while but starts doing it again after a while.

I have read there is an issue with Version 2 boxes what do I need to do to resolve?

Can I ask what you did to reset your Sky Q Box please? Do you have an amplifier connected to your setup?

Hi for reset I just mean switched off for a while and then back on, no there are no amplifiers

@Keppler901 - I've just checked & there aren't any known picture issues with Sky Q & LG TVs.

Does this issue happen on Live TV, recordings or downloads?

I had the exact same problem for a short while and now the picture goes completly and also now when i switch it on it has no pictue but i do get sound, also box stalls on a channel now and then and i can't change channel so to resolve either issue i have to switch off at the mains and reset.

Hi would ask if you have found an answer to the random loss of picture with a tick noise that returns within a couple of seconds

I’ve lived with this for years since I originally got sky Q

The engineer who installed it came back but couldn’t fix it he said there was a problem with Sky Q and certain LG sets mine was about 2years old 4K LG

infered that the TV software was at fault and needed updating

this was done but still persists to this day usually tv live programmes

Any help from anyone appreciated

Hi I eventually resolved this by resetting the whole sky box in settings and for whatever reason it works fine now, lost all my recordings thought

Did you get a sky guy in to reset your box I am reluctant to attempt this my self

maybe the issue I have has been corrected within a reset SkyQ2TB main box ?

Hi no I just did it myself I just looked up online and did the full reset it reboots the hrd drive etc didnt cause any problems

I have the very same problem and have rung LG about this. To be fair this only happens on Sky Q box as when I stream Netflix or Prime direct from the TV I have no issues. It's a real pain. LG Believe this is a Sky problem but when I rang sky they say its a TV problem. Nobody takes responsability and you end up go round in circles.

I've changed HDMI cable to no effect but I'd be interested to know if anyone managed to resolve the problem?

I just set up a thread asking about this. Exactly what started happening with me only a week ago. In addition to randomly turning the screen black for a second, when I turn on power on a socket nearby, that also sometimes causes the tv screen to go black. I thought it may be an electrical fault, but does not happen when sky is turned off. Just need to figure out how I fix sky so it stops causing this!

I'm reading this with interest .. I've just set up an LG OLED TV and I'm experiencing the same issue.. tried unplugging everything again.. Netflix is fine.. Amazon prime.. everything is fine apart from when I choose the HDMI input for the sky Q box.. I'll look to reboot the box in the settings but I'd imagine that this will take a while since the screen keeps going black.

Same for me. I will look to swap the hdmi cable, but have a feeling it may be an issue with the sky q box. How I explain it is another matter. My tv screen goes black for a few seconds randomly, but also happens when I switch on another socket nearby. Not always, but mostly. Strange one, but I'm guessing the sky box is the cause as does not happen when sky turned off.

I began talking to an LG technician on line.. he sent a link to then pay a refundable £5 to talk to an expert.. I've taken screen shots but can't upload any pics.. sounds dodgy to me?

I'm thinking that the new tech in the tv (I'm not a techy) is too powerful for the sky q box.. I read that the setting need to be changed to a lower resolution to enable the sky to perform ?? Could be totally wrong though.. I've mounted the tv etc.. I really don't want to return the tv.. 55cx model

Makes sense that the tv may be too good for the box. I have a 65" oled model, but it has been fine for 12 months as this issue only started about a month ago. Let me know what the expert says.
