info for skyq

just received email to upgrade my sky+ to skyQ.....at the moment i can only record & watch on one channel (have just the one lead to arial & box)....if i upgrade to skyQ will i be able to record & watch & record diff channels with this one lead??

With a basic 1TB sky Q box you can record 3 programs at the same time , plus watch live TV still

Hi @rec+raymond,

Do you have your own dish or fed by a comunal system ?

If you have your own dish the cable will be replaced (or added to) on upgrade as SKY Q requires 2 cables from individual dishes

As regards recording more channels yes you will be able to record more channels - it actually depends on the box you are offered - the old 1TB non UHD box could record up to 3 channels whereas the UHD boxes can record 5 with an option for 6

There are several factors to consider whether to upgrade - I will see if I can find a suitble discussion to link to for you to read
